Intended use

The LRF6742 module is a distance measurement sensor, exclusively designed to be integrated into a host
system without any modification to the LRF module.
WARNING
Inappropriate use:
 Using the LRF module without prior knowledge of the operating instructions and safety notices.
 Changes, modifications and repairs not performed by SAFRAN VECTRONIX AG.
 Manipulating and damaging the optical fiber cable or other internal components.
 Use of third-party accessories not approved by SAFRAN VECTRONIX AG.
 Use of an LRF module with obvious damage or defects.
Inappropriate use may bring the risk of:
 Physical injuries.
 Eye injuries.
 Misinterpretation of results.
 Malfunction.
CAUTION
Environmental hazard.
The LRF 6742 module contains certain components that should be treated as hazardous waste, and
must therefore be disposed via your specialist dealer.
The packaging foam is made out of PE-LD-E-X. Dispose it according to your local regulations.

 Handle and store the LRF module only in a clean, dry and ESD protected area.
 Do not measure towards close and very reflective targets.
 Do not use the LRF module outside the specified usage limits.
 Do not touch the glass lenses.
 Do not grease or soil any parts.
 Remove power prior to prolonged storage.
 Do not expose the LRF module to strong mechanical shocks.
 Do not expose the LRF module to abrupt temperature transitions
Inappropriate use may bring the risk of:
 Damage or destruction of the LRF module
 Misinterpretation of results
 Malfunction.
