Thermocouple

A Thermocouple is used on all burners on the KM404 and KM406
Combi-Sets. Refer to Figure 4-12.
The tip of the Thermocouple is located to the side the burner ring.
and is heated when the burner is producing a flame. The heated tip
is connected to the capillary tube and the Gas Regulator on the
other end. This permits normal gas flow to the burner.
Should the burner be extinguished (by wind...etc...) the
Thermocouple begins to cool, the cooling passes through the
capillary tube and causing the regulator to shut off the gas supply to
the burner, regardless of the control knob position.
For proper operation the Thermocouple must be secured at the
burner and the gas regulator. The capillary tube must be routed so
it does not make contact with other components or the frame of the
appliance.
