Hazards due to accessories and
consumables
■ If possible, disconnect the compressed air supply
from the tool before changing or replacing
accessories, such as the workpiece contact,
or before making adjustments.
■ Only use the sizes and types of accessories
supplied by the manufacturer.
■ Only lubricants recommended by the tool
manufacturer should be used.
■ The details of fasteners that can be used must
include the minimum and maximum diameter,
length and characteristics of the fasteners, such
as calibre and angle.

Hazards at the workplace

■ Slipping, tripping and falling are the main causes
of accidents in the workplace. Pay attention to
slippery surfaces caused by the use of the tool
and to tripping hazards caused by the com-
pressed air hose.
■ Extra caution should be exercised in unknown
environments. There may be hidden hazards,
such as electrical lines or other supply lines.
■ This tool is not intended for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres and is not insulated
against contact with electrical energy.
■ Ensure that there are no electrical cables,
gas pipes, etc. that could cause a hazard if
damaged by the tool.
Hazards due to dust and exhaust
fumes
■ If the tool is used in an area where static dust
is present, it may stir up the dust, causing a
hazard.
■ The pneumatic nail and staple gun must be
operated and maintained in accordance with
the recommendations contained in this manual
to keep the release of dust and fumes to a
minimum.
■ The exhaust air must be discharged in such a
way as to minimise whirling up dust and dusty
environments.

■ All built-in accessories of the tool designed to
collect, extract or suppress flue dust or fumes
should be used and maintained in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
■ Do not breathe in the exhaust air.
Avoid getting exhaust air in your eyes.
■ The exhaust air from the tool may contain water,
oil, metal particles or impurities from the com-
pressor. They can cause damage to health.

Noise hazards

■ Exposure to high levels of noise without protec-
tion can cause permanent disabilities, hearing
loss and other problems such as tinnitus (ring-
ing, buzzing, whistling or humming in the ears).
■ Risk assessment and implementation of appro-
priate regulations for these hazards are essential.
Appropriate risk mitigation arrangements may
include measures such as damping materials
to prevent workpieces from "ringing".
■ Suitable hearing protection must be used.
■ The tool must be operated and maintained as
recommended in these instructions to prevent
an unnecessary noise level increase.
■ If the tool has a silencer, ensure that it is in
place and in good condition when the tool is
used.

Hazards due to vibrations

■ Exposure to vibrations can cause nerve paralysis
and interruption of blood supply to hands and
arms.
■ Wear warm clothing when you are working in cold
conditions, and keep your hands warm and dry.
■ If you experience numbness, tingling, pain, or
whitening of the skin on your fingers or hands,
seek medical advice from a qualified occupa-
tional health professional regarding general
activities.
■ Use and maintain the tool as recommended in
these instructions to prevent an unnecessary
vibration level increase.
■ Hold the tool with a light but secure grip, as the
risk from vibrations is generally greater when
the gripping force is higher.
