BOUNDARY
This is a very special type of alarm and is useful when there is an area that
you need to avoid. A typical use would be to mark an area bounded by
shoals or rocks. The
margin that you want to maintain from the hazardous area.
The
alarm feature can be

put into use when you enter the posi-
tion co-ordinates of each end point of
a line that bisects the hazard area as
waypoints into the waypoint memo-
ries. Now we can use one of the avail-
able Route Plan memories to hold the
two points.
To set a boundary alarm, the user should be familiar with entering way-
points and making a route plan. Although the specific instructions are given
below for accomplishing the task of making a Boundary alarm, it is recom-
mended that sections involving Waypoint entry and Route plans be re-
viewed, ifnecessary.
1. Enter the end points of the boundary into

3. Select a route plan # using the A (up) or
(down) direction keys and press I[.
4. Press the I softkey and then enter the
memo number ofthe first endpoint X,X,X. Press
th eir softkeyagain and then enter the memory
number of the second endpoint of the boundary line X,X,X. Now the Route
Plan is made. Press the IMENV] key to leave the

This time press1 SELECT ROUTE1 .
6. Select the route plan # containing the two points for the Boundary line
with the A I v key. Press them (7 softkey) and press m. The
