Cleaning The Radiator
The radiator should be cleaned with water and a mild
detergent when excessive amounts of dirt and debris have
accumulated on the cooling fins or tubes. Use a soft brush.
Be careful to not damage the radiator fins.
NOTICE
DO NOT use a high-pressure power washer (Figure 90)
to clean the radiator.

DRIVE BELT (DAILY)
Drive Belt Tension
A slack drive belt may contribute to overheating or
insufficient charging of the battery. Adjust the drive belt in
accordance with the Volvo engine owner's manual.
Drive Belt Inspection
Inspect the drive belt (Figure 91) for damage or wear.
Horizontal cracks (across the belt) are acceptable. Vertical
(direction of belt ribs) cracks that intersect with horizontal
cracks are not acceptable.
Also, examine the belt and determine if it is oil soaked
or glazed (a hard, shiny appearance on the sides of the
belt). Either of these two conditions can cause the belt to
run hot, which can weaken it and increase the possibility
of it breaking.
Replace the drive belt immediately if it exhibits any of the
above wear conditions.

replacement of the GFCI receptacle. Test the GFCI
receptacle at least once a month.
1. Start the generator as shown in the start-up procedure
