FUEL CHECK
DANGER
Fuel spillage on a hot engine can cause
a fire or explosion. If fuel spillage occurs,
wipe up the spilled fuel completely to
prevent fire hazards. NEVER smoke
around or near the generator. ALWAYS
shut down the engine prior to cleaning up any spilled fuel.
Refilling The Fuel System
NOTICE
DO NOT refuel while the engine is running.
CAUTION
ONLY properly trained personnel who have read
and understand this section should refill the fuel tank
system.
When equipped with a trailer or skid, the generator may
have a double fuel tank system (Figure 36), which
consists of an internal fuel tank and a trailer-mounted
fuel tank.
ALWAYS fill the fuel tank with clean, fresh, #2 diesel fuel.
Pay attention to the fuel tank capacity when replenishing
fuel. DO NOT fill the fuel tank beyond its capacity.
Close the fuel filler cap (Figure 36) tightly after filling.
Handle fuel in a safety container. If the container does
not have a spout, use a funnel. Wipe up any spilled fuel
