7. Close all engine enclosure doors (Figure 53).

1. Set the Battery switch (Figure 54) to the ON position.

2. Place the Engine Speed switch in the LOW position
(Figure 55).

3. Place the Auto Start/Stop switch in the MANUAL
position to start the engine (Figure 56). Once the
engine starts, let the engine run for 1–2 minutes. Listen
for any abnormal noises.

4. Once the engine starts, let the engine run for
1–2 minutes. Listen for any abnormal noises. If any
abnormalities exist, shut down the engine and correct
the problem. If the engine is running smoothly, place
the engine speed switch (Figure 57) in the HIGH (up)
position.

5. The frequency meter (Figure 58) displays the 60-cycle
output frequency in hertz.

6. The AC voltmeter (Figure 59) indicates the
phase-to-phase voltage of the generator's output
terminals.

7. If the voltage is not within the specified tolerance,
use the voltage regulator (Figure 60) to increase or
decrease the desired voltage.

8. The AC ammeter (Figure 61) will indicate zero amps
with no load applied. When a load is applied, the
ammeter will indicate the amount of current that the
load is drawing from the generator.
