The gauge requires an oval hole 1-7/16" high x 3-1/16" wide. It should be inserted into the opening from the
front and the 2 L-clamps will be installed from the back. Tighten a nut on each of the L-clamps so that the gauge is
secure. Gauge depth to the back of the case is 1". Gauge depth including the mounting studs is 1-7/8".
Factory settings:
Sender type:
Hi warning point:
The water temperature gauge will operate and read correctly between the temperature range of 0 - 300° F
(0 - 150°C).
The gauge has a user adjustable high warning level. This can be set to indicate when the engine is beginning to
overheat.
Sender choices:

SEN-04-1

These senders have a tapered self-sealing thread. The engine and sender threads should be cleaned before
installation and no tape or sealant should be used on the threads. The sender should be mounted in the engine
block or in the intake manifold. Installing in the cylinder head may cause high readings due to the exhaust manifold
heat. Make sure that the sender tip can get into the coolant flow. The sender must be a Dakota Digital 300F
temp unit. Sending units from other manufacturers will cause incorrect readings. If a sender is not connected
properly, the display will show "EEE". If the SND terminal is shorted to ground, the display will show "---".
