  • Page 4 ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS May be dangerous. Electric current flowing through any conductor causes localized Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF). Welding and cutting current creates EMF around welding cables and welding machines. Therefore: Welders having pacemakers should consult their physician before welding. EMF may interfere with some pacemakers. Exposure to EMF may have other health effects which are unknown.

    Primary input ELECTRIC SCHOCK CAN KILL! Precautionary measures should be taken to provide maximum protection against electrical shock. Be sure that all power is OFF by opening the line (wall) disconnect switch when primary electrical connections are made to the power source. Be sure to check your input leads with a voltmeter to make sure all power is OFF.

    Fan control The power source fans continue to run for 6.5 minutes after welding has stopped, and the unit switches to energy--saving mode. They start again when welding restarts. The fans run at reduced speed for welding currents up to 180 A, and at full speed for higher currents.

    Check the main power supply fuses. REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PARTS Repair and electrical work should be performed by an authorized ESAB service personnel.
