Installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS on a Single System Manually
Step Description
1. Install your server hardware and
configure the Oracle ILOM service
processor.
2. Review the Linux versions
supported by the server.
3. Obtain the RHEL installation
media.
4. Review the product notes.
5. Set up the console, the RHEL
media, and the installation target
that you will use to perform the
installation.
6. Set BIOS settings for new OS
installations.
7. Install the RHEL OS.
8. Perform the post installation tasks.
9. (Optional) Install the Oracle
Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel for
Linux.

Before You Begin

Ensure that the following requirements are met:
If you want to configure the boot drive (that is, the storage drive onto which you are
■
installing the OS) for RAID, you must do so before you install the Linux OS. For
instructions on how to configure RAID on your server, refer to
