Before You Begin

Ensure that the following requirements are met:
If you want to configure the boot drive (that is, the storage drive onto which you are
installing the OS) for RAID, you must do so before you install the Linux OS. For

Local or Remote Media
This procedure describes how to install the Oracle Linux operating system from local or remote
media. The procedure assumes that you are booting the Oracle Linux installation media from
one of the following sources:
Oracle Linux 6.5 or 6.6 CD or DVD set (internal or external CD/DVD)
Oracle Linux 6.5 or 6.6 ISO DVD image (network repository)
If you are booting the installation media from a PXE environment, refer to
