4. OPERATION

The following chapter addresses the operation, mechanical adjustments and material flow of the system.
The system uses several variables that allow the sifter to perform at optimal throughputs such as the
rotary motor and vibration dampeners. Vibratory sifters operate by rotary motors which use counter
weights rotating at high RPM to produce the vibratory force required to move material across the wire
mesh. Paired with the vibration dampening rubber mounts the system works in unison together, while
the rotary motors deliver the centrifugal force outwards the vibration dampeners give the elasticity
that allows the housing to vibrate at the right force frequency. The weights within the motors can be
adjusted to change the force frequency and speed the material travels across the screen. For instructions

The following are notices to safety requirements that the reader should take note of before operating and
maintaining the equipment. The reader should know these general warnings:
• Warning - indicates a hazardous situation that if avoided can result in serious death or
injury.
• Caution - indicates a hazardous situation that if avoided can result in minor of moderate
injury.
WARNING -
Before adjusting eccentric weights, turn off and lock out/tag out energy source
to vibrator.
CAUTION - Do not operate vibrator with end caps removed. Dust accumulation around
vibrator shaft could cause unit to fail.
CAUTION -
Adjust both sets of eccentric weights to same setting number mirror images, or
force output will be uneven and damaged vibrator.
WARNING - Vibrator may produce loud noise during operation. See OSHA 1910.95 for
guidelines and required, wear ear protection to avoid impairment or loss of hearing.
CAUTION - Do not allow motor to exceed nameplate rating. If vibrator operates
continuously at above rating damage may occur.
