6.1 Troubleshooting
This section provides the common problems of SICAM EFI and the recommended solution to resolve the
problem.

Ensure AC/DC auxiliary power supply, AC BI signal, primary input to sensor and sensor output cable are
electrically isolated whenever device front cover is removed for performing any troubleshooting actions.
Observations
SICAM EFI is not responding after initial
installation and assembly
Function check (self-test) function does
not work
In dual-powered variants, the auxiliary
LED is not ON

Action
For the battery-powered variant only, perform the following
steps:
•
Perform a self-test by pressing the push-button for 1 s.
•
If the self-test is not successful, then remove the device
front cover and ensure that the paper strip inserted between
the battery and the battery clip during shipment is removed.
Also, check whether the battery is inserted as per the correct
polarity.
•
If the device still does not respond, contact Siemens
customer care.
For the dual powered variant only, perform the following steps:
•
Check if the Auxiliary LED (Green) is ON. If not, perform a
self-test by pressing the push-button for 1 s.
•
If the self-test is not successful, check if the auxiliary supply
is connected properly.
•
If this does not work, disconnect the auxiliary supply. Once
the supply is disconnected, remove the device front cover
and perform the steps mentioned previously for the battery
variant.
If this occurs immediately post installation, it maybe due to incor-
rect battery installation.
•
Remove the device front cover and ensure that the paper
strip inserted between the battery and battery clip during
shipment is removed. Also, ensure that the battery is
inserted as per the correct polarity.
•
If the self-test is still not operational, perform battery check
function to check the health of the battery. Refer to 5.3 Push
Button for performing battery check function.
If this occurs during normal operation, this can be due to battery
drain issue.
•
Perform battery check function to check the health of the
battery. Refer to 5.3 Push Button for performing battery
check function.
The auxiliary LED is ON when either of the AC or DC auxiliary
supply is connected and available:
•
If there is an AC connection, check whether the AC auxiliary
supply is wired correctly and is available.
•
If there is a DC connection, check whether the DC auxiliary
supply is wired correctly and is available.
