3.2 Device Installation and Commissioning
The SICAM EFI device is intended for surface-mounted installation on a Ring Main Unit (RMU) panel/protection
panel/wall.
You must make note of the device dimensions mentioned in Device Dimensions, Page 26 before proceeding
with the device installation.
Mount the device on an RMU/protection panel/wall by executing the following procedure:

Exercise caution when installing the device.
Non-observance of the following specified measures will result in death, severe injury, or consider-
able material damage.
The printed circuit board (PCB) is an electrostatic sensitive device. Follow the ESD measures.

Prepare the working area and provide grounded mat for protecting components from electrostatic
²
discharges (ESDs) damage.
Wear ESD gloves and handle the device PCBA. Place it on the prepared mat suitable for preventing
²
ESD. Do not place the PCBA on a conductive surface.
Ensure AC/DC auxiliary power supply, AC BI signal, primary input to sensor and sensor output cable are
²
electrically isolated when device is under installation or maintenance.
Remove the device front cover by unscrewing the screws at the 4 corners as seen from the front side.

Create mounting holes as per the dimensions shown in Figure 3-3 to mount the SICAM EFI on the RMU/
²
protection panel/wall.
Fasten the SICAM EFI body containing the PCBA and glands to the RMU/protection panel using screws
through the mounting holes as shown in Figure 3-3. Mounting-hole diameter is 4.3 mm.
