Using the Printer

2 Halftone Type
Specifies how the printer will generate halftones. Halftones are used to produce
different colours from the four toners that reside in the printer (Cyan, Magenta,
Yellow, and Black).
Smooth: halftones use a cluster dot method for generating halftone patterns. This
creates a regular, repeating halftone pattern. This often creates more uniform tones
which may be preferable for computer-generated images.
Detail: halftones are generated by an error diffusion algorithm, which creates a
random, on-repeating distribution of coloured pixels to create halftones. This often
creates a more detailed image, with finer variations between different shades and
colours.
3 Lightness
Makes the colours print lighter or darker. A value of zero causes them to print
without adjustment. Values greater than zero make colours lighter. Values less than
zero make them darker.
4 Saturation
This setting will make colours more or less intense (saturated). A value of zero leaves
colours unaffected. Values less than zero make colours less intense. Values greater
than zero make colours more intense.
