Controlling the parameters by tilting this unit (D-MOTION)

The S-1 features D-MOTION, which lets you control the tones according to the angle at which this unit is tilted.
You can add various effects by tilting this unit while you play.
You can see and listen to how D-MOTION works by playing the preset patterns 1-01 through 1-16.
When using this function, firmly grip both sides of this unit and be careful not to bend the connected cables too much.
Using D-MOTION
1.
Press the [ø] (PLAY) button to start pattern playback (the button lights up).
2.
Firmly grip both sides of this unit and press the [D-MOTION] button with your right thumb or other
finger.
3.
While holding down the [D-MOTION] button, tilt the unit back and forth (pitch) or left-right (roll).
The tone changes as you tilt the unit.
When doing this, make sure not to drop the unit, and make sure that the connected cables aren't bent too much.
4.
To return the tone to its original state, release your finger from the [D-MOTION] button.

Configuring D-MOTION

1.
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the [D-MOTION] button.
The settings screen is shown in the display.
2.
Use the [TEMPO/VALUE] knob to select a parameter, and then press pad [2] (ENTER).
3.
Turn the [TEMPO/VALUE] knob to edit the value.
Configure the parameters that you want to change when you tilt this unit from left to right (roll), or when you tilt the unit
forward and backward (pitch).
