Clock Chip Battery
Once every 15 years, the SmartMonitor 2 should be returned to Respironics for replacement of the clock chip, which contains an
internal lithium battery. If this battery is depleted, the monitor will sound a constant alarm, the LCD display will read “ERROR 2,” and
the memory may possibly be cleared, causing the alarm and record parameters to be set to standard values.
Respironics recommends that you consider replacement of the clock chip if the monitor is over 15 years old.
