Conformance to EMC and Electrical Safety Regulations

Concepts
OMRON products are industrial electrical devices that are incorporated into various types of machines
and manufacturing equipment. The products conform to relevant standards so that the machines and
equipment incorporating the OMRON products can comply with EMC and Electrical Safety Regula-
tions more easily.
Refer to the OMRON website (www.ia.omron.com) or ask your OMRON representative for the most
recent standards to which our products conform.
l Conformance to EMC regulations
This product complies with EMC regulations when assembled in a PLC system or Machine Auto-
mation Controller. However, for the radiated emission requirements, in particular, please note that
the actual emission varies depending on the configuration of the control panel to be used, the con-
nected devices, and wiring methods. Therefore, customers themselves must confirm that the entire
machine or equipment conforms to EMC regulations, even you are using a device that conforms to
EMC regulations.
Caution:
This equipment is not intended for use in residential environments and may not provide adequate
protection to radio reception in such environments.
l Conformance to Electrical Safety regulations
The NX-series Units comply with Electrical Safety regulations required by specific laws and regula-
tions such as the EU Directive and UKCA.
For precautions for each product, see the instruction manual included with the product.
l Precautions for NX-series Units
For the conformance to EMC and Electrical Safety regulations of the NX-series Units, the following
precautions must also be observed.
• The NX-series Units must be installed within a control panel.
• You must use SELV power supply for the DC power supplies that are connected as the Unit pow-
er supplies and I/O power supplies for the NX-series Units. We recommend using OMRON
S8VK-S Series Power Supplies. EMC standard compliance was confirmed for the recommended
power supplies.
• You must use power supply with an output hold time of 10 ms or more for the DC power supplies
that are connected as the Unit power supplies and I/O power supplies for the NX-series Units.

Conformance to UL and CSA Standards

Some NX-series products comply with UL and CSA standards.
