6.9 Machine Set-up

IMPORTANT! Park the log splitter on a level, dry work area
free of debris and other objects.
Position the log splitter so the prevailing wind blows engine
exhaust away from the operator.
NOTE:
If using a tow vehicle, leaving the splitter
attached to it provides greater stability.
6.9.1 WXR720, WXR720L
1. Position the log splitter next to the wood to be split.
2. If no tow vehicle is available, lower the jack stand. You can
block the wheels for more stability.
3. Make sure working area is clear of stones, branches or
other obstacles.
4. Precut logs to desired block size, ready to load onto splitter
bed.
5. Determine where the split wood is going to be piled. Make
sure that location does not interfere loading the log splitter.

6.9.2 WXR740, WXR740L
The WXR740 Series splitters are designed with a pivoting main
frame that allows horizontal or fully vertical splitting.
NOTE:
If using a tow vehicle, leaving the splitter
attached to it provides greater stability.
1. Position the log splitter next to the wood to be split.
2. If no tow vehicle is available, lower the front jack stand
and the rear jack stand. You can block the wheels for more
stability.
3. Make sure working area is clear of stones, branches or
other obstacles.
4. Precut logs to desired block size, ready to load onto splitter
bed.
5. Determine where the split wood is going to be piled. Make
sure that location does not interfere loading the log splitter.
6. To rotate the splitter to vertical, pull out the T-handle lock
and push the cylinder up.
