Step 4: Install and Configure Lattus A10 Software and NAS Services
Configuring objs.conf
48
s3-data1 for Lattus S3. This configures the policy to store to the
defined container.
h On the Source Directories tab, create a directory. For example: 
/stornext/snfs1/data1. Click Add to add the directory to the
"Source Directories". This will be the directory shared out with
NFS or CIFS.
i On the Advanced tab, use the default values set for the
parameters.
j Click Apply.
Note: Note 1: Once the namespace for a policy is defined and
applied to a source directory, the namespace for the policy
MUST not be changed later; otherwise, the objects stored
in the Lattus storage with the prior namespace cannot be
retrieved.
Note: Note 2: The max segment size in the object storage policy is
preconfigured to 64 GB. The segment size must NOT be
changed after it is defined and applied to a source
directory. 
The max segment size defines the maximum object size
stored by the object storage policy. Larger Max segment
size settings reduce the number of objects per file on very
large files, and maintaining the default max segment size
allows for more efficient transfer of object data into the
Lattus device. Quantum recommends maintaining the
default max segment size of 64 GB
Note: Note 3: The max segment size parameter can be defined in
both objs.conf and the snpolicy policy. 
If it is defined in both locations, the segment size defined
in the snpolicy policy is used. The segment size parameter
in the snpolicy policy offers more flexibility, such as
allowing different segment sizes to be applied to different
policies against the same object storage configuration.
