System BIOS Setup
This section describes how to configure Basic Input Output System (BIOS).
2.1
Overview
The BIOS Setup Utility (SETUP) is a utility to configure basic hardware settings. This utility is pre-installed in
the server as standard.
Usually, you do not need to change the parameters of the SETUP. Use only when the case applies to any
of cases described in Chapter 3 (2.4 Cases that Require Setting Changes).
2.2
Starting SETUP Utility
Turn on the server and wait until the following message appears. See Chapter 3 (1.1.1 POST sequence) for
details. (The on-screen message varies depending on the environment.)
Press <F2> to enter setup, <F3> Internal Flash Memory, <F10> Display Boot
Menu , <F12> Force Network Boot
When you press <F2> key during displaying the message or the NEC logo, SETUP runs and displays the Main
menu upon completion of POST.
About password entry
The entry of the password appears after you set a password in SETUP.
Enter password [
If you enter a wrong password three times, SETUP stops. (You cannot operate further.) Turn off the
server and try again.
To exit SETUP after saving the parameters, choose Save & Exit and then Save Changes and Exit.
To exit SETUP without saving the parameters, choose Save & Exit and then Discard Changes and Exit.
Tips
If you wish to restore the setting to default values, select Save & Exit and then Restore
Defaults. (The default value might be different from the factory setting.)
You cannot restore the default value in the following submenus in Advanced menu:
– iSCSI Configuration submenu
– VLAN Configuration submenu
