Installation conditions
The perfect installation height for your device
is a position that enables operating the
door intercom at a distance of 30-50 cm so
a standing person can easily speak into the
microphone.
Please keep the distance between micro-
phone and speaker as large as possible. This
gives you the best possible speech intelligi-
bility in full duplex mode.
For reverse-side mounting modules (= mount-
ing behind an existing front wall), ensure
sufficiently large sound inlet slots in front
of the microphone and sound outlet slots in
front of the loudspeaker (at least 75% of the
loudspeaker membrane area for sound outlet
or 75% of the sound inlet opening on the
microphone housing). See also dimensional
drawings at www.behnke-online.de/down-
loads
Please always mount a reverse-side mount-
ing module in a flush way (without distance)
behind your front wall and do not forget to
install the included seal between front wall
and mounting module.

Outdoor mounting
When used on weather sides, series 20, 40
and 50 door intercom stations should be
mounted in-wall with a rain protection cover
(not possible for series 50) (please always
ensure correct installation of the supplied
gasket).
When mounting the series 5, 10, 20,
30, 40 and 50 door intercom stations in
surface-mounted housings, cable entry is
possible at the bottom or rear of the sur-
face-mounted housing.
The unused cable entry must be closed with
the supplied cover angle. The cable entry is
made via the PG fitting.
When mounting all the series mentioned in
these instructions in-wall, seal the top edge
of the door intercom station well to protect it
against rainwater, especially if the surface is
uneven (e.g., with silicone). Please leave the
center of the lower edge of the door inter-
com station (series 20, 30, 40 and 50) free
to use as water drainage slot. When using
cover plates (for series 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40),
the cover plate must be sealed against the
housing mounted in-wall or the flat surface
in the case of cavity wall installations using
a suitable sealing compound or the gasket
supplied.
When installing in third-party pedestals,
suitable measures must be taken to prevent
condensation from forming in the pedestal.
