2 General Safety Information

2.1 Safety information

This Operating Manual contains important information to make machine operation safe
and economical. For this reason the machine should be operated only after the Operat-
ing Manual has been read and understood.

2.1.1 Obligations and liability

• The basic requirement for safe usage and problem-free operation of this machine is
knowledge of the basic safety advice and safety regulations.
• This Operating Manual and especially the safety advice should be observed by every-
one who works on the machine.
• In addition to this, the rules and regulations for accident prevention, applicable at the
place of installation, are also to be observed.
• The machine has been constructed in accordance with current technology and with
accepted safety regulation technology. Even so, during usage dangers may arise for
the user or third parties because of interference with the machine or with other materi-
al assets. The machine is therefore to be used only
o for the specified applications
o and when the machine is in perfect and technically safe order.
When there are faults which could impair machine safety, the machine should be
switched off and the fault cleared. Only after this the machine should be switched on
again.
Guarantee and liability claims for personal injury and property damage will be ruled
out if they can be put down to one or more of the following causes:
Usage of the machine not in accordance with specification

Improper assembly, installation, operation or maintenance of the machine.

Operation of the machine with defective or improperly installed or functionally inca-

pable protection and safety equipment.
Ignoring the advice in the Operating Manual with reference to transportation, storage,

assembly, installation or maintenance of the machine.
Unauthorised changes to the machine.

Unauthorised changes to the performance capacity or drive ratios of the machine.

Inadequate monitoring of machine parts subject to wear.
-
Repairs carried out improperly.
-
Catastrophic cases caused by extraneous events and force majeure
