MAINTENANCE
Use of Booster Cable
When the battery is discharged, and the
engine cannot be started, use a booster cable
to start the engine powered by the battery of
another vehicle (12 V vehicle). Use a booster
cable over 100 A. Follow the below
procedures.
- Connection of Booster Cable
(1) Stop the engine of a vehicle in normal
condition and connect the booster cable in
the order of 1 to 4 shown in the drawing.
(2) Start the engine of the vehicle with a
discharged battery. When it is difficult to
start the engine, start the engine of the
vehicle in normal condition and then start
the engine of the vehicle with a discharged
battery.

- Booster Cable Removal
(1) Perform the procedures for booster cable
connection in the reverse order to remove
the booster cable after engine start.

Battery Recharge
(1) Stop the engine and remove the key before
recharging.
(2) Remove the battery from the unit.
(3) Remove all the vent plugs when recharging.
(Battery requiring refilling)
(4) Avoid boosting charge as much as possible
and recharge it so as the electrolyte level does
not exceeds 45
(5) Charge the battery at well ventilated place so
as not to accumulate hydrogen gas.
(6) Keep fire away and take caution for not
generating any sparks.
(7) When setting on and off the clip of battery, turn
off the switch of battery and connect the
terminals of plus (red) and minus (black)
correctly.

(8) When charging, the electrolyte may scatter.
Protect the eyes with such as glasses and take
caution not to let it spilled on the clothes or
skin.
