Cabling the WLAN Location Engine 2340
Note.
By default, the appliance is configured for DHCP.
To connect the cable to Location Engine, follow these steps:

Connect the power cord.

Connect an Ethernet cable from the network interface port labeled 'LAN 1' on the rear of the appliance to
your network.

Connect the power cable and power the appliance with the front power button. Example: Hyperterm
Setting up the WLAN Location Engine 2340
To setup the Location Engine, follow the below procedures:
Determining WLE2340 IP Address and Administration URL
To determine the initial WLE2340 IP address and administration URL, you can do the following:

Connect the provided Serial Cable to the appliance and machine which is running the appropriate
terminal emulation software (Example: Hyperterm, Minicom).

Set the terminal software configuration as follows:
•
Baud rate: 9600
•
Data Bits: 8
•
Parity: None
•
Stop Bits: 1
•
Flow Control: None

At the login prompt, enter the username admin and at the console prompt, password is not required.

At the command prompt, type the command 'show interface eth0'.

Record the IP address (eth0 network interface) displayed.

Logging to WLE2340 via Initial Administration GUI
The WLE2340 Administration uses Web-based interfaces, that allows you to configure and maintain the WLE2340. To
login, you can do the following:
