5. Enter the initialization string for the modem connected to
your Cayman 2E-H in the Modem Init String field.
If the default settings for the modem are not appropriate for your
PPP link, you can enter a modem initialization string to specify
new modem settings. The serial port sends the modem
initialization string to the modem whenever a serial connection
is requested or the serial port is reset.
6. Enter the dial string for the modem connected to your
Cayman 2E-H in the Modem Dial String field.
If the default settings for the modem are not appropriate for your
PPP link, you can enter a modem string to specify new dial-out
commands for your modem. The serial port sends the modem
initialization string to the modem whenever a dial-out request is
received.
You can enter as many as 256 characters for the modem
initialization string.
7. Use the Port Speed radio buttons to specify the connection
speed of your serial connection.
Options are 115.2 (115,200 bits per second), 57.6 (57,600 bps),
38.4 (38,400 bps), or 9.6 (9600 bps). You should choose 115.2
for most modems.
8. Click the Save button to store your modified
configuration in the Cayman 2E-H memory.
9. Click the Restart Cayman 2E-H button on the Cayman 2E-
H Home Page to restart your Cayman 2E-H with its new
configuration.
