Diagnostic Console
The Cayman 2E-H diagnostic console lets you configure a Cayman
2E-H to boot and/or download its software from various sources. The
diagnostic console also lets you clear or program the Cayman 2E-H
flash EPROM, which stores the main system software.
WARNING: Because you can accidentally erase or overwrite
the Cayman 2E-H boot settings or flash EPROM when you use
the diagnostic console, you should not use the diagnostic
console without conferring with Technical Support.
You communicate with the diagnostic console by connecting a
terminal or terminal emulator to the Cayman 2E-H maintenance
console port and restarting into diagnostic (EPROM) mode. To use
the Cayman 2E-H diagnostic console, you need a serial cable and
either a terminal or terminal emulator (such as a personal computer
with a terminal emulation application that supports 9600-baud
communication).
You can save the settings configured via the diagnostic console in
non-volatile memory so that they need not be entered at every boot.
An autoboot option lets you configure the Cayman 2E-H once:
after that, it will download or load the specified image every time it
is turned on.
