The compression control protocol (CCP) has determined that data compression is not
used.This step may not appear if the ISP does not support compression.

The bandwidth allocation control protocol (BACP) is not used. This step may not appear if the
ISP does not support BACP.
$$$ IPCP neg' Primary DNS 172.16.215.11
$$$ IPCP neg' Secondary DNS 172.16.215.12
The ISP has provided two DNS server addresses for your use. If this step does not appear, you
must ask the ISP for a DNS address and program it manually in FirstGear's Advanced Options.

The PPP session has been established.

If the progress shown in your trace differs from this example, the difference should present some
indication of where the trouble is. Check for the following conditions:
If the call does not connect, verify the following parameters in Menu 11:
Primary Phone #
Secondary Phone #
Transfer Type
If you have selected DOVBS, be sure your ISP supports it.
Check with your phone company to see if you must add 1+area code to the dialed number in
order to make a 64 kbps connection.
If you receive an "LCP closed" message immediately following the password authentication
step, verify your router's IP address in Menu 3.2 and verify the following parameters in Menu 11:
My Login
My Password
Check the error log in Menu 22.3.1, which usually provides some indication of why the call
was dropped. If there is nothing in the log, the call may have been dropped by the remote
device. Verify that the configuration parameters between these two devices are consistent.
