6. Software Functionality

This section discusses using the LCD interface to configure the positioner.

Run Time Screen

Current Loop Mode

The Run-Time screen contains all the real-time feedback data for the DNGP. The diagram below shows a
screenshot of a DNGP Run-Time screen. The boxes accompanying the diagram show all possible feedback
symbols and their meanings. In Current Loop Mode the DNGP accepts the standard 4-20 mA input and
energizes the solenoid to stroke the valve to the desired position. In this mode pressing the:
• RIGHT button increases the input current signal and manually moves the valve (the direction depends
on what positioner action is selected - when in manual mode).
• LEFT button deceases the input current signal and manually moves the valve - when in manual mode.
• UP and DOWN buttons increase and decrease the deadband, respectively, to adjust the sensitivity of
the positioner.
• ENTER button takes you to the Top Level Setup screen.
Minimum deadband value is 0.5%. Do not attempt to set deadband below this value.
CTRL = Using Digital Inputs
