Front Panel SFP+ and QSFP+ Ports
The FM 2072 supports as many as 48 SFP+ transceivers and six QSFP+ transceivers.
The following illustration identifies the FM 2072 front (I/O) panel ports for fabric and access connections:
•
48 SFP+ ports 1-48
•
6 QSFP+ ports 49-54, each providing outputs for 4 ports, or 24 ports total for the 6 connectors. The ports are
numbered 49.1-49.4 through 54.1-54.4.
NOTE: Any SFP+ or QSFP+ port can be configured as a fabric or access port.
Fabric Ports for 4x10 or 1x40 GbE Fabric
Using the six QSFP+ Composable Fabric topology described earlier in this document, QSFP+ #49-54 support the
Composable Fabric.
Each QSFP+ used for a fabric connection supports:
•
For a direct connect fabric: 4x10 GbE or 1x40 GbE.
•
For a fabric connected through FM 1006 modules: 4x10 GbE.
NOTE: If you need to use a port speed not listed above, contact HPE Support.
IMPORTANT: All ports within a fabric must operate at the same rate.
Port Speed for SFP+ 1-48 used as Access Ports
SFP+ #1-48 are Access ports by default. When used as access ports, they support the following speeds:
•
1 Gb/s
•
10 Gb/s
Port Speed for SFP+ 1-48 used as Fabric Ports
If the port type of any SFP+ #1-48 is changed to fabric the port supports the following speeds:
10 Gb/s
