Follow the rules of the road and the Convention of International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea
(COLREG).
Always adjust the speed and direction of the craft to sea conditions.
Keep a sharp lookout for people and objects in the water.
Reduce speed when there is limited visibility, rough water, or people, boats, or structures in the water nearby.
Be aware of the safety of the crew and any passengers at all times.
Ensure the crew and guests are advised of the location and instructions for fire control equipment and the location of
evacuation routes and emergency exits, and that the fire control equipment always is accessible.
The boat owner or operator is responsible for safety preparations:
Read and follow the instructions in this manual, and make sure you understand the described hazards.
If your craft is fitted with a life raft, carefully read the operating manual of the life raft.
The craft should have onboard the appropriate safety equipment (lifejackets, harnesses, etc.) according to the type of
craft, weather conditions, etc. This equipment is mandatory in some countries.
The crew should be familiar with the use of all safety equipment and emergency maneuvering (man overboard
recovery, towing, etc.).
Make sure the boat is fitted with a functioning handheld fire extinguisher in the designated location. See Safety
equipment, page 10.
The following is also the responsibility of the boat owner or boat operator:
In the event of damage or disposal of a high-voltage lithium-ion battery, you are obliged to return the battery to
X Shore or to dispose of it with a qualified specialist company. In the event of a justified resale, this obligation must be
transferred to the buyer of the battery.
Always maintain your craft properly and take into account the deterioration that will occur over time and as a result of
heavy use or misuse of the craft.
Always use trained and competent people for maintenance, repair or modifications. Modifications that may affect the
safety characteristics of the craft shall be assessed, executed and documented by competent people. X Shore cannot
be held responsible for modifications that X Shore has not approved.
