Lay up for winter

Always lay up your boat before the first freeze of the season.
WARNING
• Never use flammable solvents (i.e., kerosene) for cleaning the bilge, however oily it might become.
• It is important that both cooling systems function during storage as the high-voltage lithium-ion batteries will be
charged.
• A damaged high-voltage lithium-ion battery can cause electrical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal hazards.
Make sure to store the boat in an environment suitable for high-voltage lithium-ion batteries.
– Do not expose the battery to temperatures of less than -5 °C or more than 60 °C.
– Do not store the battery in temperatures of less than 0 °C or more than 25 °C.
– Store the battery in a state of charge between 10 % and 30 %.
1.
Empty the bilge pump system:
a. Detach the hose.
b. Fully drain the water from the water lock of the system and run the pumps dry.
2. Lift the boat out of the water. See Lift the boat, page 46.
3. Immediately after lifting the boat out of the water, wash the hull and the bottom of the boat.
4. Clean the interior.
5. If possible, store cushions indoors in a dry place. If not possible, then make sure the cushions are dry and place them
on their side.
6. Make sure the cooling systems function and the coolant levels are high enough. See Check coolant for high-voltage
batteries, page 68. See Check coolant for drivetrain, page 69.
7. Leave the high-voltage lithium-ion batteries in place. The state of charge of each battery should be between 25 %
and 35 % during storage. Check the state of charge regularly and charge if needed. See Charging of battery when
boat not in water, page 71.
8. Store the boat where it will not freeze.
