Safe handling of high-voltage battery system

WARNING
• In case of unintended use, damage, or malfunction, a high-voltage battery can result in burns, other injuries, and
fatal electric shock.
• The high-voltage lithium-ion battery may only be inspected, installed, and commissioned by qualified persons
with appropriate high-voltage knowledge.
• Incorrect inspection, installation, or commissioning of a high-voltage battery may result in death or serious injury.
• Always assume that the high-voltage battery is charged.
The high-voltage lithium-ion batteries are intrinsically safe under normal circumstances. If properly transported, stored,
and disposed of, they do not present any hazards. Work on one of the high-voltage lithium-ion batteries may only be
carried out by X Shore employees or, after consultation with X Shore, by qualified persons who are trained to work on
high-voltage systems.
A qualified person has proper training, knowledge, and experience so to identify and avoid hazards that may be caused
by electricity and high-voltage lithium-ion battery.
The training includes:
safety regulations
wiring guidelines
circuit diagrams
professional making of electrical connections
safe handling of lithium-ion batteries
observe the general safety regulations that apply when working on electrical equipment with hazardous voltage in
marine applications.
