2.4 Conditions for use of frequency inverters

Temperature class
Temperature class T3 (maximum surface temper-
ature of 200°C) applies to motors operated via fre-
quency control
The frequency indicated on the pump's type plate
may not be exceeded in inverter mode.
A device for direct temperature monitoring must always be
used for inverter operation. This consists of PTC thermistors
to DIN 44082 installed in the winding with switching tempera-
ture in accordance with table 1 and a trigger device function-
ally tested according to DIR 2014/34/EU.
The circuit must be designed so that the motor is switched
off on reaching the limit temperature and renewed start-up
of the motor is only possible manually! The overcurrent pro-
tection device must be considered as additional monitoring
here. The current limiting of the inverter is set to a maximum
of 3 times the motor current.
