6. Building a System
The SPIDAR systems allow the design of custom systems to meet unique needs. A major
aspect of designing a system is how to physically mount and layout all the antennas. Aspects to
consider include weights, maneuverability, cable connections, NIC-500 mounting, cart designs
and power requirements.
Often a cart-based platform is used as a starting point. A cart is convenient and productive to
maneuver and allows for easy odometer triggering to collect data. Custom platforms can be
built using fiberglass poles to minimize RF interference. Contact Sensors & Software to discuss
specific requirements.
