OPTIONS
6-13 AMPS CELLULAR TESTING (OPTION 15)
The AMPS Cell Site Simulator is O ption 15 of the CO M- 120C and is used to test AMPS
Mobile Telephone Equipment. This option is accessed by pr essing SPCL Test Mode Key
and selecting " 2. Cellular ."
6-13-1 AMPS CELL SITE SIMULATOR SETUP
The CO M- 120C is set up for AMPS Mobile Phone testing by the following pr ocedur e:
o
Pr ess SPCL Mode Key. Select " 2. Cellular " fr om the O ptions Menu.
o
Rotate SQ UELCH Contr ol ccw until squelch is set to minimum.
o
Rotate VO LUME Contr ol fully ccw and then cw, until static becomes audible.
o
Rotate SQ UELCH Contr ol cw, slowly, until static is no longer audible.
o
Squelch levels higher than necessar y can pr event AMPS testing fr om functioning.
o
Tur n Mobile Phone power on.
o
To per for m Audio Test, connect demodulated audio output connector of Mobile
Phone to AUDIO /DATA IN Connector .

If "data parity error" message is displayed during test operation,
squelch setting may be too low.
