11.4 Bonnet mounting
on the valve body
1. Move bonnet A to the closed position.
2. Open bonnet A approx. 20 %.
3. Position bonnet A with the mounted
diaphragm 2 on the valve body 1, take
care to align the diaphragm weir and
valve body weir.
4. GEMÜ 611: Insert the washers 21 and bolts
18 the from the bonnet side and the
washers 19 and nuts 20 from the body
side.
GEMÜ 671 DN 15 - DN 80: Insert the
bolts 18 and washers 19 from the body
side.
GEMÜ 671 DN 100: Insert the
washers 19 and nuts 20 from the bonnet
side.
Initially hand tighten only.
5. Fully tighten the bolts 18 or nuts 20
diagonally.
6. Ensure that the diaphragm 2 is compressed
evenly (approx. 10-15 %, visible by an
even bulge to the outside).
7. Check tightness of completely assembled
valve.
Important:
Diaphragms set in the course
of time. After valve assembly /
disassembly make sure to tighten
the bolts 18 or nuts 20 (see
chapter 19 "Sectional drawings
and spare parts").

Check the tightness of the

media connections prior to
commissioning!
Use only the appropriate

protective gear when perfor-
ming the tightness check.
Protect against leakage!
Provide precautionary measures

against exceeding the maximum
permitted pressures caused by
pressure surges (water hammer).
Prior to cleaning or commissioning the
plant:
Check the tightness and the function of
G
the diaphragm valve (close and reopen
the diaphragm valve).
If the plant is new and after repairs rinse
G
the piping system with a fully opened
diaphragm valve (to remove any harmful
foreign matter).
Cleaning:
The plant operator is responsible for

selecting the cleaning material and
performing the procedure.
Important:
Diaphragms set in the course of
time. After valve installation and
commissioning make sure to
tighten the bolts 18 or nuts 20 (see
chapter 19 "Sectional drawings and
spare parts").
Important:
GEMÜ 671 / Service and
maintenance: Dependent
on the operating conditions,
regrease the threaded spindle.
GEMÜ recommends the grease
"TUNGREASE DAB" from TUNAP.
