Installation: Installation Requirements
international installations, grounding must comply with all internal standards
agencies within the specific country.
The common ground point for wall receptacles should be connected to the nearest
equipotential ground through a bonded grounding system. If a bonded grounding
system is not available, the ground pin of each wall receptacle must be individually
connected (using 10 AWG stranded copper grounding cable) to a central grounding
point. Do NOT jumper the ground pins of the receptacles together.
The grounding system must not carry current, such as a grounded neutral, since the
current flow could produce potential differences along the ground path. Potential
differences are a shock hazard source for equipment users and patients. All
grounded objects in the installation area must be at the same ground potential.
A router allows connection between the hospital network and the Unity Network IX
network. The router is used mainly for remote services connections. For further
details refer to the Unity Router Configuration Document (2023994-001).
Routers may not be required for all ApexPro Telemetry Server installations. Refer to
the site survey.
Category 5 100Base-T network drop cables with RJ-45 connectors are required for
the following Unity Network connections.
Unity Network IX network
Unity Network MC network
Unity Network RX network
