APPENDIX A - Model description Technical Spec.
PICO D is a continuous tunable external cavity laser. The unit is self-sustained with
respect to laser power, wavelength and temperature control electronics. However,
an external DC power supply is required to operate the laser. The PICO D is con-
trolled through its interface, having both analog (control) and digital (control and
status) signals, and requires external driver electronics for selecting output wave-
length and laser power. In order to obtain a linear behavior of the wavelength and
power control signal, they have to be externally calibrated.
PICO E can generate light in the wavelength ranges as stated below (see Specifica-
tion number 1). Specifications are given after one-hour warm-up. The PICO D can
be used before the warm up time but with limited optical specifications.
