Preparing for System Installation

Note – Site preparation is detailed in the Sun Enterprise 10000 System Site Planning
Guide.
It is the customer's responsibility to prepare the site. Sun Microsystems Customer
Service or an authorized distributor will assist with the site-planning process and
will install the equipment upon notification of delivery from the customer.
Prior to the installation of the system, verify the following items:
1. The installation checklist and report have been located and are available.
2. Installation of the necessary electrical equipment is complete and sufficient power
is provided as stated in the Sun Enterprise 10000 System Site Planning Guide.
3. Adequate air conditioning is provided as stated in the Sun Enterprise 10000 System
Site Planning Guide.
4. A network is available (Ethernet and/or FDDI) as stated in the Sun Enterprise
10000 System Site Planning Guide.
5. If the customer has noted problems or peculiarities at the site that require special
equipment, it is the responsibility of the customer to obtain such equipment.
6. The air-conditioning system has been operational and running for 48 hours to
bring the room to the appropriate temperature as stated in the Sun Enterprise
10000 System Site Planning Guide.
7. The area for the system has been thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed in
preparation for installation.
8. The shipper and Sun Microsystems have been notified of all missing or damaged
items.
9. The system is unpacked and moved into the installation area as stated in the Sun
Enterprise 10000 System Site Planning Guide and/or the Sun Enterprise 10000 System
Unpacking Guide.
The Sun Enterprise 10000 System Site Planning Guide provides the necessary
information to complete and/or verify these tasks.
