Set the specimen.
Open the claw of the specimen holder with your finger
at the root projection. Place the specimen slide on the
stage with the coverglass facing upward, and put the
claw back to fix it.
Rotate the stage knobs to bring the observation region
of the specimen into the optical path. (Let illumination
light go through the specimen.) → Chapter 3, "Detailed

Focus on the specimen with the 10x
objective.
Rotate the revolving nosepiece to swing the 10x
objective into the optical path. The objective will click
into place when rotated into position.
Rotate the coarse and then fine focus knobs to focus
on the specimen. → Section 3.3, "Focusing", and
Section 3.7, "Torque Adjustment of the Coarse Focus
Knob"
Do not turn the right and left focus knobs
simultaneously in opposite directions.
Additionally, do not
turn the coarse focus
knob further after the
stage has reached its
upper or lower limit.
This operation will
damage the focusing
mechanism.
When the focal point cannot be found
To find the focal point, rotate the stage vertical
movement stopper counterclockwise to unlock the
limit.

Bring the observation region into the optical path.

Set the specimen.
10x
Set the magnification of the objective to 10x.
Focus on the specimen.
