1 Check the application conditions: Adjust the sensing range and distance to the
object or background and the remission capability of the object according to the
corresponding diagram (x = sensing range, y = minimum distance between set
sensing range and background (white, 90%)) Remission: 6% = black 1, 18% =
gray 2, 90% = white 3 (referring to standard white as per DIN 503). We recom‐
mend making the adjustment using an object with a low remission. The minimum
distance (= y) for background suppression can be determined from the diagram
as follows: Example: x = 750 mm, y = 60 mm (Distance version). That is, the
background (white, 90%) is suppressed at a distance of > 60 mm from the sensor.
2 The sensing range is adjusted by pressing the single teach-in button until the
yellow LED starts to blink slowly.
We recommend placing the switching state in the object, e. g. figure above. Once
the sensing range has been adjusted, the object is removed from the path of the
beam, which causes the background to be suppressed and the switching output to
change (see figure 7, page
NOTE
We recommend making the adjustments using an object with a low remission.
NOTICE
Do not operate the teach-in button using sharp objects.
If the average filter is activated, a corresponding number of measured values are
averaged depending on the selection. This reduces the error of the repeatability and
extends the response time.
