Set value of Cos φ
The current direction corresponds to the
generator counter arrow system.
Over-excited operation = capacitive opera-
tion = reactive power is supplied = reactive
current is fed in lagging the active current.
Under-excited operation = inductive oper-
ation = reactive power is drawn = reactive
current is fed in ahead of the active cur-
rent.
Time constant (1 Tau) in seconds [s].
Whenever the set value is changed, this
new set value is not triggered abruptly, but
smoothly in accordance with a PT1 re-
sponse. The time constant describes how
quickly the new set value is reached. (After
three time constants the final value 95 %
is reached)
