4. Remove the sample compartment cover.
5. Remove the back cover. For an ABX, see
6. Remove the IR or NIR source.
a. Unscrew the black handle to free the source.
b. Lift the source out.
To replace a source
1. Replace the IR or NIR source.
a. Carefully place the source in position, aligning the electronics.
b. Turn the black knob to tighten.
Note Each source is uniquely pinned so that it can only be installed in a specific mounting
position. Locate the alignment pins in the source position on the source mount. Orient the
source so that the pins on the source mount are aligned with the holes on the source.

4. Connect the power supply.
5. Turn the spectrometer on.
Verify that the source is working. When the source is working properly, the status LED remains
steady blue after the power-up diagnostics is complete.
If the status LED flashes yellow, the source may not be working. Make sure it is seated firmly on
the source mount and the knob is tightened. If the source still does not work, contact us.
6. Configure the source in OMNIC Paradigm software. Go to Configure > Instrument > Source
settings to set the available sources.
7. In the advanced settings area of the dashboard, choose the source from the Source list.
Note You may notice increased levels of water and carbon dioxide in spectra collected
immediately after you have had the cover open. If this interferes with your data, wait several
minutes for equilibrium to be re-established.
