Silglyde). Now install the new separator ele-
ments and retaining ring. Torque the capscrews
to 85 to 90 ft.---lbs. (115 to 122 Nm). DO NOT
over---tighten, as damage to the separator ele-
ment can result.
7. Next, install the tank flange gasket that is pro-
vided. Before installing, lubricate both sides of
the gasket (i.e. Silglyde). Reinstall the tank lid. In-
stall the capscrews finger tight, then gradually
tighten in a crisscross pattern in 4 to 5 steps. Al-
ways tighten the capscrews alternately at oppo-
site sides of the cover. Lube torque capscrews to
200 ft.---lbs. (271Nm).
8. Clean or replace fluid return line strainer.
9. Clean the fluid return line orifice installed in the
side of the compressor unit air end.
10. After assembly is complete, check for continuity
between the separator flange and the lid and
tank flange with an ohmmeter.

SERVICING THE FLUID FILTER

ment (P/N 02250111---592) replacement is indi-
cated by the maintenance indicator located on the
filter head, use the following instructions.
1. Stop the system's power unit.
2. Relieve any system pressure in the filter line.
3. Drain the bowl if drain port option is provided.
4. Rotate the bowl clockwise (left) and remove.
5. Remove element by pulling downward with a
slight twisting motion and discard.

6. Check bowl o---ring for damage and replace if
necessary.
7. Lubricate element o---ring with system fluid and
place on post in filter head.
8. Install bowl by rotating counter---clockwise (right)
and tighten to 60---70 ft.---lbs.
9. Confirm there are no leaks after powering the sys-
tem.

AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE

Ref er to
be performed when air filter restriction gauge reads
20 inches water column. The air filter is equipped
with a primary element and a secondary element.
As previously stated, the restriction indicator will
alert you as to when the primary element mainte-
nance is necessary. When removing the primary
element, always check the secondary element re-
striction indicator to see if it shows red. The second-
ary element must be replaced at this time. The sec-
ondary element must changed after every sixth pri-
mary element cleaning. However, the secondary
element is designed for replacement only. DO NOT
clean the secondary element.
AIR FILTER ELEMENT REMOVAL
1. Clean exterior of air filter housing.
2. Remove the cover/element assembly by loosen-
ing the wingnut securing it.
3. Pull the cover/element assembly out of the hous-
ing.
4. On the inside of the element, you will notice a lock
ring which fastens the cover to the element. Re-
