4.1 Left Flange Shaft, Removing and Instal‐
ling
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Sealing Grease - G 052 128 A1-
Removing
• Secure the transmission to the -VAS6095- . Refer to
⇒ "5 Securing on Engine and Transmission Holder",
page 109 .
– Tilt the transmission back on the engine/transmission holder
so the transmission fluid does not drain out.
– Remove the bolts -arrows- from the flange shaft mounting
bracket.
– Remove the left flange shaft -1- from the transmission in di‐
rection of -arrow A-.
Note
Ignore -arrow B-.
– Remove the torque converter. Refer to ⇒ Servicing - 8-Speed
Automatic Transmission; Rep. Gr. 32 ; Torque Converter;
Torque Converter, Removing and Installing .
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Tightening specification. Refer to
⇒ "1.1 Overview - Final Drive", page 146
