– Clean both magnets -arrows-. Make sure the magnets com‐
pletely contact the depressions in the ATF filter.
– Mount the ATF filter on the Mechatronic.
♦ The collar -1- on the ATF filter must be installed all the way
into the opening -2- in the Mechatronic.
♦ The mount -4- on the back must fit into the bolt -3- on the Me‐
chatronic.
– Install the ATF pan. Refer to
⇒ "1.1 Transmission Fluid Pan, Removing and Installing",
page 140 .
– Fill the ATF. Refer to
⇒ "6.3 ATF, Draining and Filling", page 114

Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit - VAG1782-
♦ Hose diameter approximately 18 mm
♦ Compressed air gun, commercially available
♦ Protective eyewear
Procedure
Note
Adhere to guidelines for clean working conditions when working
on the automatic transmission. Refer to
⇒ "3.1 Clean Working Conditions, Guidelines", page 5
– Before installing a replacement transmission, always clean out
the ATF cooler and ATF pipes using compressed air (maxi‐
mum 10 bar (145 psi)).
– Place the -SMN372500- under the transmission.
