The configuration file contains useful identification information in its header. The MAC address,
IP Address, etc can be used by a system administrator to identify which units the configuration
belongs to.
WARNING: The configuration file is currently restricted to a single software version and can only
be restored into a wireless unit operating the software version indicated in the configuration file
header.
The configuration file can also be used when swapping out a faulty wireless unit. If one of the
wireless units is replaced on a wireless link a configuration file captured from the faulty unit can
be replaced into the new unit to speed up replacement. It should be noted that when playing a
configuration file into a wireless unit with a different MAC Address that the license key will not be
restored and may need to be entered. This can be obtained either from the Quick Install guide
supplied with replacement wireless unit or directly from Motorola.
To restore a configuration file simple select the file using the browse button and click the 'Upload
Configuration File and Reboot' button.
Warning: A reboot is always required to restore a configuration file.
