3.8 Adjusting the start address and the number of DMX channels
For operating the light effect unit with a light controller, adjust the DMX start address for the first DMX
channel. If e. g. on the controller the address 17 is provided for controlling the pan motion of the moving
head, adjust the start address 17 on the V200SPOT. Then the other functions of the unit are automatically
assigned to the following 13 channels (in this example 18 to 30). As the next possible start address for the
following DMX-controlled unit, the address 31 could be used for this example. (In the 8-channel mode only
8 DMX channels are reserved, i. e. as the next possible start address for the following DMX-controlled unit
the address 25 will result).
1. Adjusting the DMX start address:
a) Press the button MENU (2) once so that the display (1) will show
to press the next button, otherwise the adjusting procedure will be stopped.
b) Press the button ENTER (4). The adjusted address will be displayed.
c) With the button DOWN or UP (3), adjust the address and memorize it with the button ENTER.
2. Adjust the number of DMX channels which are to be used for controlling the unit.
a) Press the button MENU so many times until the display shows
b) Press the button ENTER. The number of DMX channels is displayed.
c) Adjust the number of the DMX channels (
the button ENTER.
3. To exit the menu, keep the button MENU pressed until the display switches back to the start address or
to the selected show programme number or wait for approx. 8 s.
4. As soon as control signals from the DMX controller are received, the red led DMX (5) lights up and the
display shows the start address. The V200SPOT can now be operated with the DMX controller. To release
the light beam by opening the shutter, adjust the DMX channel 3/7 (in the 8-channel mode) or the DMX
channel 9/10 (in the 11-channel mode) to a DMX value between 8 and 15 or to 255.
5. By turning the lens (7) bring the light patterns into focus.
