Software Development

The MCD controller may be controlled from a PC via a SCSI interface. This
section describes the method used for development of software for such
control.
The following conditions apply to the development of the software.
1. Windows 95/NT 4.0 or later operating system.
All software developed for 32-bit applications.
2. MicroSoft Visual C++ 4.2(*A) or later used as the development
environment.
3. Driver software for the SCSI interface compatible with the ASPI
standard, and must support WNASPI32.DLL.
*A : See http://www.microsoft.com/visualc/ for details.
Cautions
Ensure that the DLL(*B) supplied by Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. is used
for control of the MCD controller. The use of this DLL considerably
simplifies software development. It's use is explained below.
Software can be developed without the use of the DLL, however in this case
a considerable knowledge of the specifications of the SCSI interface and the
MCD controller are required.
*B : The DLL is one of the functions supported by Windows 95/NT 4.0, and
is a library which allows functions to be started and run as required from
within application software. See the Windows 95/NT 4.0 or development
environment user's manual for details of the DLL.
